This role assists with compliance, payroll, onboarding, and maintaining HR records. The HR Intern supports the director in fostering a positive workplace culture. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain practical experience working in a part‑time capacity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supports new hire onboarding processes including new hire paperwork, completing required background checks and drug screens, completion of I-9, verifying employment eligibility documentation and maintaining proper employee files. Assists with processing of terminations ensuring return of company property, proper closing out of employee file, final payroll and proper termination in all applicable systems. Organize and maintain digital and physical files; tracks and scans employee documents for filing. Assist with tracking employee training initiatives. Help ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations. Supports Director with special projects and strategic objectives of the Human Resources department. Performs other related duties and clerical tasks as assigned. Experience and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of current human resource principles, practices and procedures. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; prior experience with HRIS / Payroll systems a plus. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
