Work Environment

The role of Physical Therapist at our rehabilitation center involves working directly with patients in an onsite setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, and support staff. Typical work hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a stable schedule while allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical assessments to understand each patient's unique needs and develop customized therapy plans that align with their recovery goals.
• Design and implement evidence-based therapy programs that address issues including mobility, pain management, balance improvement, and functional limitations.
• Utilize hands-on treatments, therapeutic exercises, gait training, and preventative measures to effectively address patient challenges.
• Support residents in regaining independence in daily activities within our supportive environment.
• Enlighten patients, families, and facility staff on therapeutic exercises, wellness strategies, and ongoing care techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records that comply with healthcare regulations, ensuring continuity of care and supporting treatment adjustments as needed.
• Work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to patient care.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress regularly, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans and communicating changes to the healthcare team and family members.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is caring for our growing geriatric patient population, many of whom require specialized attention due to age-related conditions and mobility challenges. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing their autonomy and overall health outcomes. By employing a trauma-informed lens and addressing each patient's unique context, you will make a tangible difference in their rehabilitation experience.

Qualifications

• Possession of an active New Jersey Physical Therapist license is mandatory.
• A bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; preference will be given to candidates with a doctorate or master's degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in physical therapy is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical practices, with excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to various patient needs.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred, along with additional training in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation being highly beneficial.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required due to potential home visit needs.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a rehabilitation facility or assisted living environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in developing therapy programs for geriatric populations is an advantage.
• A background in an interdisciplinary team approach is beneficial for enhancing collaborative patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
