Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant serves a vital piece of the organization and will initially report to the President, eventually transitioning to reporting to the Accounting Manager.

In this role, the Staff Account will help process and record financial transactions of the Harrison Group. The Staff Accountant will work with clients, coworkers, leadership, and vendor partners on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. They will also be responsible for keeping the records up to date via QuickBooks Online.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Process banking files with The Harrison Group’s bank

· Review, audit, and execute Accounts Payable

· Set up billing process for new clients

· Review and manage the Accounts Receivable process on an ongoing basis

· Process and track all financial data within QuickBooks Online

· Reconcile current bank accounts

Skills

· One to two years’ experience in accounting, billing operations, or finance

· Experience with ACH processing is preferred

· Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is preferred

· Experience with TPA systems

· Working knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

· Proficiency in reconciliation

· Ability to manage confidential financial information

Experience in benefits management, customer service, an accounting-related field, or the healthcare TPA industry is a plus

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university

Technical Skills:

· Intermediate to advanced computer and Microsoft Office proficiency

· Knowledge of general reporting, reconciliations, and expense analysis

Soft Skills:

· Highly organized and detail orientated

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Ability to build trust with long-tenured leaders and key stakeholders

· Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines

· Ability to analyze data and present findings in a clear and concise manner

· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

· Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems

· Experience working in entrepreneurial or family-owned business environments a plus

Physical Requirements:

· Must have reliable transportation to get to and from the workplace timely

· Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day

· Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day

· May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

Position Type and Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Upon a successful introductory period, employee may be offered a HYBRID schedule with 1 day working from home.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and the Microsoft Office Suite.
