AR Accountant

Accounts Receivable AccountantWe are partnering with an organization in the Atlanta area seeking an Accounts Receivable Accountant to join its accounting team. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience managing receivables, cash applications, account reconciliations, and customer account activity.The AR Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate receivable balances, supporting month-end close, and partnering with internal teams to resolve billing and payment discrepancies.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain accounts receivable records and customer account activityApply and reconcile customer payments, cash receipts, and account adjustmentsMonitor outstanding balances and research payment discrepanciesPrepare AR aging reports and assist with collection follow-upPerform account reconciliations and resolve variancesPrepare journal entries related to accounts receivable activitySupport month-end and year-end close processesAssist with billing, invoicing, and credit memo processing as neededPartner with Accounting, Finance, Sales, and customer-facing teams to resolve account issuesProvide documentation and schedules for internal and external auditsIdentify opportunities to improve AR processes and internal controlsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred2+ years of accounts receivable or general accounting experienceKnowledge of GAAP and general ledger accountingExperience with ERP or accounting systemsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills
