This role is primarily remote, providing flexibility while ensuring our counselors remain connected to a dynamic team. Our interface utilizes advanced electronic health record systems, including AVATAR, to streamline documentation and coordinate care. You will collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, fostering a team-based approach that enhances client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients to assess their mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs, meticulously documenting findings from initial consultation to treatment completion.

• Evaluate and monitor client progress by regularly reviewing treatment plans and modifications based on client feedback and observable outcomes.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans designed for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing diverse therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care.

• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare providers to design comprehensive intervention strategies that address complex mental health issues.
\n
• Provide follow-up support for clients transitioning from hospital care by coordinating with attending psychiatrists and medical staff to ensure seamless care.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery, implementing preventive measures to address behaviors that could hinder progress.

• Support and educate family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges, fostering an environment of understanding and cooperation.

Qualifications\n

• A minimum of a Master's degree or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT , LPC , or LCSW in New Jersey is mandatory.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) is essential.

• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Knowledge and experience in managing clients with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as substance use disorders.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal capabilities and a compassionate approach to client interaction.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with the best practices for mental health counseling as defined by the AMHCA.
\n
• In-depth understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications and their role in overall treatment strategies.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually , along with a generous sign-on bonus.
