Contract (13 or 26-week options available) | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | 36- or 48-hour weekly options available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a general medical surgical and telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses
• Care for patients on a secured floor that includes those with underlying behavioral health conditions such as detox and dementia; training for safety and de-escalation is provided
• Manage IV drips, which are required across all floors
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
• Float frequently within scope to meet facility staffing needs, including to additional units and an offsite campus; travelers are first to float
• Adhere to weekend requirements (4 weekend shifts per 4-week period) and work 2 of 3 designated major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska RN state license required; pending license accepted, though candidates without license in hand will be scheduled approximately six weeks out)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting; first-time travelers not accepted unless experience was gained at a Level I Academic Medical Center
• EPIC charting experience required
• Demonstrated comfort and ability to care for behavioral health patient populations
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred
• Experience working in a Level I Academic Medical Center or similarly complex acute care environment
