Localization Translator

Position Summary The Localization Translator will translate and localize Japanese games and anime titles for North America. The role requires bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese, a passion for anime culture, and strong business communication skills. Employees will work in a hybrid schedule, requiring the office in Santa Monica at least two days per week. Job Responsibilities Translate text from Japanese to English. Check translation accuracy between Japanese and English. Assist with communication with domestic and overseas partners. Track localization progress and schedule. Assist with quality assurance for both physical and digital releases. Perform any additional tasks as required by the department manager. Qualifications Fluent in English and Japanese (English native speaker preferred). JLPT N1 certification or equivalent fluency. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. 1–3 years of relevant localization experience, or 1–3 years of video game/anime/manga translation. Strong writing, reading, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work under heavy workloads and tight deadlines. Team player who is self‑motivated, confident, energetic, and creative. Live interpretation experience is a plus. Familiarity with TYPE‑MOON properties is a significant bonus.
