Gulf Region OEM Sales Director

What you’ll do Location: Within 50 miles of Austin, TX, Houston, TX, or Dallas, TX. Position Overview The Regional Sales Director will manage activities of the Gulf region to achieve sales, profit, and growth goals while continually improving quality and customer service levels within the group. Responsible for the strategic management of regional sales resources to meet sales/orders, market share, price, product mix and financial metrics established by product divisions, operating divisions and sales leadership. Define, lead and manage comprehensive sales initiatives & programs affecting the organization and its key stakeholders (customers, distributors, partners, employees, and trade and business media). Work effectively with customer and channel partners while maintaining relationships with key decision makers. In this function you will Act as a sales and marketing agent with sales and operations management to ensure top line sales objectives are met; provide strategy to identify and develop prospective new customers, keep current trends and significant issues, directing strategic planning, ensuring region maintains effective relationships and service to customers. Review monthly forecasts with accuracy to ensure region meets numbers; oversee execution of sales quotes, cost control, leveraging subcontractors, managing receivables, working with credit, contract, collection departments, and turning backlog and projects. Maintain an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, talent assessment, training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and compliance to company policies and standards. Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention within the region. Maintain budgetary responsibility for the territory; manage sales teams throughout assigned region to ensure effective allocation of company resources and assets. Advise senior management of customer and competitive developments that impact sales growth and profitability, and recommend strategies and decision options to counteract market pressures. Work closely with product divisions to implement strategies focusing on geographic, customer, industry and market needs. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 12 years of progressive sales or marketing experience within the electrical industry. Minimum 4 years of experience as a leader of people. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or an MBA from an accredited institution. Direct sales experience in the electrical industry. Prior P&L experience. Experience working with manufacturer reps and distribution/channel partners. Position Criteria (Skills) Excellent communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future. Strong people management, talent selection/recruitment, conflict management and leadership skills. Ability to provide development opportunities for employees. Team player who actively contributes to the group’s success. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Ability to travel up to 25%. Compensation The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive, with a target total compensation range of $167,000 - $245,000.
