Security Officer - ARMED (5 Locations - FT On-Site, Testing Required) Location: Atlanta, GA (5 locations listed below). 2500 Patrick Henry Parkway, McDonough, GA (Customer Care Center) 755 Jefferson Street, Atlanta, GA 62 Lake Mirror Rd, Forest Park, GA 750 Logistics Parkway, Jackson, GA (MDC) 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA (GPC HQ) Job Summary The Security Officer position is responsible for protecting personnel, assets, and interests throughout the Company’s footprint. This role employs armed physical security tactics, screenings, highly technical security event monitoring, and security event response. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain armed security equipment and respond to incidents. Screen visitors, employees, and contractors using security protocols. Monitor and analyze security event feeds using software such as CCURE and Avigilon VMS. Respond to physical security perimeter (PSP) intrusion events and execute verified procedures. Maintain secure access application systems and provide technical assistance. Coordinate with Operating Company and Corporate Security groups. Document security‑related incidents and incident reports accurately. Perform physical activities including running, walking, and lifting as required. Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic and maintain personal protective equipment. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Prerequisites Psychological test. Firearms qualification and annual re‑qualification with semi‑automatic pistol and shotgun. Drug test. Internal Threat Program (for designated security positions). Valid state firearms permit and driver’s license. Successful annual qualification with all company issued firearms. Qualifications You must be at least 21 years old. Bachelor’s/associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum 3 years of law enforcement, military, private, or industrial security experience preferred. Must be able to work shift work, holidays, overtime, inclement weather, call‑outs and at designated Company locations (Atlanta, Forest Park, McDonough or Jackson). Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other functional computer formats. Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions within policies and procedures. Ability to respond to complex technical inquiries regarding access application systems. Strong ethics and experience handling sensitive or confidential information. Fleet Vehicle Requirements Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience and a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle. Driving permits are not considered valid. No revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application; no convictions of major traffic violations within the 12 months prior to application or any pending major traffic violations at the time of application.
