Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care in a Telemetry unit, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on Med Surg, Urology, Orthopedics, and Oncology patients, including ED hold scenarios.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac status using telemetry equipment and promptly report abnormalities.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Perform clinical procedures such as IV placements, bladder scans, blood draws off central lines, and glucose monitoring.
• Document patient information accurately and in compliance with EPIC electronic health record standards.
• Support patient and family education to ensure understanding of treatment plans and aftercare.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NY RN license and have at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrate current BLS certification; CMSRN certification preferred.
• possess Epic electronic medical record experience within the past two years.
• Be able to work every other weekend and adjust schedule to meet unit needs, including holidays as scheduled.
• Have reliable transportation, with vehicles equipped for winter conditions, and be prepared for rotating shifts.
