Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while working in a home-based office setting. As part of a collaborative team, you will engage with a variety of professionals, including Clinical Supervisors and multidisciplinary teams from the Department of Corrections. Communication and coordination with correctional facilities will be essential to ensure uninterrupted access to mental health resources for your patient population.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and crisis interventions for incarcerated individuals, assessing their psychological needs and determining appropriate treatment plans.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to patients' unique circumstances and histories.
\n
• Collaborate closely with correctional staff to facilitate patient access to treatment, including proper housing arrangements and timely interventions.
\n
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure continuity of care and compliance with statistical reporting requirements.

• Engage in case conferences, treatment planning discussions, and multidisciplinary rounds to optimize patient care and outcomes.
\n
• Oversee and mentor social work interns or student volunteers, providing guidance and support to develop their expertise in mental health care.

• Participate in clinical supervision sessions at least once a week to discuss case loads, treatment methodologies, and receive constructive feedback.

• Undertake psychological testing as required to assess cognitive and emotional functioning, contributing to holistic treatment approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on incarcerated individuals facing a range of mental health challenges, including behavioral issues, substance use disorders, and severe mental illnesses. By tailoring your interventions to the unique needs of this population, you will play a critical role in fostering recovery and rehabilitation.

Qualifications\n

• A valid clinical license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• A minimum of five years of full-time, paid professional experience in a behavioral health setting, including two years post-licensure, focused on direct client care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in correctional facilities or with similar populations that have complex mental health needs is highly desirable.

• Proven track record in conducting assessments, treatment planning, and effective outcomes for individuals with co-occurring disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n
