Position Overview

Progressive Wellness Urgent Care is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Physician Assistant to join our surgical center located in Baltimore, Maryland. In this dynamic role, you will engage in diagnosing and treating a diverse array of health conditions, with a strong emphasis on preventive care practices. Our team consists of highly skilled professionals, including five MDs and five Nurse Practitioners, all working collaboratively to meet the healthcare needs of our community. Work Environment

Your role will take place in our advanced surgical center, where you will work closely with a collaborative team dedicated to improving patient outcomes. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and resources, creating a supportive environment where you can thrive as a healthcare professional. As this is a full-time position, you can expect to work Monday to Friday, with a consistent shift starting at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations, assessing patients’ medical histories, and reviewing their records to inform diagnosis and treatment.
• Order, perform, and analyze a variety of diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, X-rays, and other imaging studies.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of health conditions and illnesses within the scope of family and urgent care medicine.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, focusing on both chronic conditions and acute health issues.
• Prescribe medications and track therapeutic responses, ensuring patient safety and efficacy of treatment.
• Maintain meticulous patient records, schedules, and documentation to comply with healthcare regulations and uphold our commitment to quality care.
• Educate patients and their families on managing health conditions, understanding preventive measures, and adhering to treatment plans.
• Oversee patient's overall health management, proactively identifying areas for improvement and wellness promotion.
• Actively engage in ongoing professional development, staying informed about the latest research and advancements in family medicine and primary care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse patient population, ranging from children to adults, addressing a variety of medical issues from general health concerns to acute medical conditions. Your ability to connect with patients and tailor your communication style to meet their needs will be key in fostering trust and compliance with treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• State licensure as a Physician Assistant in Maryland.
• In-depth knowledge of primary care and applicable health regulations.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective dialogue with patients and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Proven experience as a Physician Assistant in a fast-paced family health clinic or urgent care setting.
• Specialization in family medicine or a related field, demonstrating strong clinical experience.
• Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team focused on patient-centered care.
• Ability to handle a fluctuating volume of patients while maintaining composure and empathy.
• Possession of a valid DEA number.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
