Senior Executive Assistant
Abby Care
About Abby Care Making family care possible. At Abby Care, we are tackling one of the most important and unsolved challenges of our time: family caregiving. Over 50 million Americans are family caregivers for loved ones without pay, tools, or support. Our mission is clear and ambitious: to train and employ family caregivers so they can get paid for the care they already provide at home. Abby Care is building a tech-powered, family-first care platform to efficiently deliver care, improve health outcomes, and provide the best-in-class experience nationwide. We are rapidly expanding our mission and looking for passionate team members to join. Abby Care has partnered with leading insurance plans, healthcare providers, and community organizations. We're supported by top, mission-driven VCs to empower families throughout the country.
The Role We're looking for a sharp, high-ownership operator to join us as Sr. Executive Assistant inside the Office of the CEO. This in-person role (4x a week) is based in San Francisco and supports the CEO and COO of Abby Care. You take pride in a well-run calendar, a clean inbox, and a flawlessly executed offsite. You see the unglamorous work as the work. You will own the calendars, inbox, and operating cadence of two of our most important executives, make accept and decline decisions independently, and execute with speed and judgment. You will also manage our team of onshore and offshore Executive Assistants, setting the bar for the entire administrative function of the company. You'll report to the Chief of Staff and work as a direct extension of the CEO and COO. Key Responsibilities: Own the calendars of the CEO and COO as strategic assets. Make accept, decline, defer, and delegate decisions independently. Protect deep work blocks aggressively. Resolve conflicts without escalating most of them. Anticipate two to four weeks out, not two days out. Run the executive inbox. Triage inbound, draft and send communications on behalf of the principals, and ensure nothing rots in the queue. Own the operating cadence. Drive prep, agendas, and follow-through for executive meetings, board meetings, offsites, investor sessions, and key external engagements. Manage the admin team. Lead our onshore and offshore Executive Assistants and Office Manager. Set the standard, run the cadence, and ensure high performance. Build the backbone. Own contract organization, vendor management, and the administrative systems that keep a fast-growing company running at scale. Build infrastructure that outlasts you. The Requirements:
We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, consistent with applicable laws. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, satisfactory references, and any required documentation.

- At least 5 years of experience supporting C-level executives at either high-growth startups, top-tier professional services firms, or similarly high-velocity environments. We are not tied to specific years, but rather the quality of the experiences and the outcomes.
- Track record of supporting a CEO or COO at a company scaling through growth stages, with direct exposure to board, investor, and exec-level work
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex calendars across multiple high-velocity principals at once
- Experience managing other Executive Assistants or administrative staff, including remote and offshore team members
- Comfort with discretion at the board, investor, and executive level
- Strong written communication, comfortable drafting on behalf of executives in board, investor, and partner contexts
- Bias toward action. You decide and brief, rather than ask and wait
- Ability to context-switch without dropping threads. You can hold a partner call, a board prep, an interview, and a vendor escalation in the same hour
- Track record of catching problems before your executive saw them, and of building systems that outlasted you at prior companies
- Comfort pushing back on executives when you disagree. You optimize for being right over being liked
- AI skills. You have been experimenting with AI tools and understand how to leverage them to make yourself and your team meaningfully more efficient
- Hands-on, high-ownership mindset. Willing to get in the weeds, move fast, and handle the realities of an early-stage startup.
- Full commitment required. This role is full-time and your top priority, with the expectation of growing alongside the company over the next 2+ years
- Competitive compensation packages that reflect the value you bring. We reward our team for the impact of their work - full-time employees are eligible for an annual company performance bonus.
- Comprehensive health coverage that works for you. We cover 90% of your premiums and 70% for your dependents, with multiple PPO plan options to choose from for medical, vision, dental, life, and short-term disability.
- Generous paid time off. We provide policies that allow you to recharge along with 10 paid company holidays.
- Team bonding. We love bringing our teams together. As a full-time employee, you'll get to connect, collaborate, and have fun through team activities and our annual company retreat.
- Financial savings benefits to support your future. We support your financial well-being with HSA contributions, optional FSA and commuter benefits, and full coverage of all 401(k) account fees (employer match not currently offered).
- Paid parental leave to support your growing family. We provide paid leave, so you can focus on bonding and adjusting to life as your family grows.
We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, consistent with applicable laws. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, satisfactory references, and any required documentation.
Our Values
- Families First Redefining healthcare starts with how we treat the parents and children we serve. We go above and beyond for every family, building strong, lasting relationships. We continually ask ourselves, "Would we want this for our own families?"
- Urgency with Precision Millions of families are waiting for care, and they cannot wait, therefore this is not your typical 9 to 5 job. We match their urgency with our own, delivering exceptional care without compromise. Here, speed and excellence go hand in hand .
- Relentlessly Resourceful As an ambitious startup, we adapt quickly and make the most of limited time and resources. We solve challenges with creativity to deliver results without unnecessary complexity.
- Purpose with Positivity We take our mission seriously while never losing sight of the people behind the work. Respect, kindness, memes, and coffee make us stronger as a team and better for the families we serve.
- Driven to Redefine What's Possible We are here to make healthcare better, which means asking hard questions, challenging outdated systems, and finding smarter, more compassionate ways to deliver care.
