Position Highlights

Flex day/night rotation

12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Primarily adult Med/Surg patients with occasional pediatric patients

Opportunity to serve as Charge RN when needed

May be asked to act as a Preceptor

Gain valuable Critical Access Hospital experience

Broad scope of practice including medical, surgical, observation, swing bed, outpatient, and occasional pediatric care

Collaborative and supportive nursing team

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at NVRH, you'll coordinate and deliver exceptional patient care while working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team. You'll have the opportunity to care for a wide variety of patients and practice at the top of your license in an environment that values your clinical expertise and decision-making skills.

Using the Nursing Process, you'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while meeting the physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental needs of patients across the lifespan. You'll collaborate closely with providers, nursing leadership, and support staff to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care RN experience required

Charge RN experience preferred

Current Vermont RN license or Compact Multi-State RN License

BLS (American Heart Association) required

ACLS (American Heart Association) required

Meditech experience preferred

Housing and Transportation Requirements

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is located in a rural area of northeastern Vermont, approximately two hours from the nearest major airport. Public transportation is not available, and there are no local taxi services or ride-share options. A dependable personal vehicle is required for the duration of this assignment.

NVRH does not provide housing. While we can provide a list of local housing resources as a courtesy, the traveler is solely responsible for identifying, securing, and paying for housing before arriving for their assignment.

Important Information

This is primarily an adult medical/surgical unit.

Occasional pediatric patients may be admitted; this is not a dedicated pediatric unit.

Pediatric-only RNs will not be considered.

Flu vaccination is required with no exceptions.

Due to our rural location, personal transportation is necessary. No public transportation is available, and the nearest major airport is approximately two hours away.

Travel nurses are responsible for securing their own housing accommodations. While NVRH does not provide housing, our team is happy to share local housing resources and recommendations to assist with your search.

All required credentials must be uploaded at least five business days prior to the start date to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
