Business Development Specialist

Riggs Industries is looking for a Business Development Specialist to promote the capabilities of our full-service industrial fabrication and construction firm serving various industries including power, energy, waste management, mining, quarry and aggregates, public works, defense, and other commercial steel construction, in the mid-Atlantic region which includes Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Proactively identifies and pursues qualified business opportunities through market research, RFI/RFQ response, networking, and prospecting Develops and executes sales and marketing strategy as a member of the management team and delivers agreed sales KPI's Develops business relationships, facilitates proposal development, manages resources, coordinates detailed documentation Manages marketing agency to develop compelling, customer‑centric marketing resources (brochures, websites, digital content, promotional materials, trade show staging, etc.) Gives presentations to prospective and existing customers Analyzes and evaluates contract performance from initial award to close. Manages new customer relationships and maintains consistent customer service while transitioning new business to project managers Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into CM software Attends trade shows and represents Riggs at various trade groups. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Proposal Coordinator Education and/or Experience Four-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience developing business in the industrial construction industry.
