Nashville, TNDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes. This role requires a detailed-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting principles and practices. The Senior Accountant will support senior leadership by preparing accurate financial statements, assisting in audits, and maintaining compliance with accounting regulations. This position offers growth opportunities within the accounting department and allows for direct interaction with management to drive financial analysis and strategic decision-making.SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the monthly revenue recognition close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, revenue arrangement validation, and reconciliation of deferred and recognized revenue in accordance with ASC 606Develop and maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures for recurring processesCalculate monthly sales commissions Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and monthly operational reports as neededSupport the annual financial statement audit and income tax preparation processAssist with preparation of sales tax returns and facilitate new account registrationsAssist HR with management of payroll tax registrations and compliancePartner with the Controller and CFO on implementation of accounting automation initiativesRequirementsEXPERIENCE REQUIREDA minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.Experience in a corporate or public accounting setting is required.Experience with accounting software NetSuite, familiarity with AI tools and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & KNOWLEDGEBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Good oral and written communication/presentation skills Knowledge of US GAAP, auditing and accounting principles, standards and practices Strong organization and analytical skillsComfortable dealing with ambiguityDemonstrated ability to improve and automate existing accounting processes or design new processes A team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to embrace Clearwater’s CLEAR core values (Commitment to Client Success, Lead with Accountability, Integrity & Collaboration, Excellence in All That We Do, Advance Colleague Success, Respect & Transparency) and culture PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EXPECTATIONSThe Senior Accountant is expected to continue professional development through ongoing training and industry seminars to stay current on accounting standards, tax laws, and best practices.Regularly engage in cross-departmental collaboration, enhancing skills in communication, presentation, and strategic decision-making.Take an active role in leadership development opportunities.
