In this full-time, contract position, you’ll work with a small group of talented 5th grade students—about 7 in the co-taught classroom and an additional 4 on your caseload. Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Illinois PEL with LBS1)
• Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field, with preference for advanced coursework
• Previous experience teaching in a co-taught or inclusive classroom setting
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach in a 5th grade elementary classroom, differentiating and adapting lessons
• Manage a caseload of up to 4 additional students, ensuring each receives individualized support
• Write, review, and implement IEPs effectively
• Track and report on student progress, adapting interventions as needed
• Communicate regularly with families to foster positive relationships and support learning at home
