Assistant Professor, Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmologist

The University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a Neuro-Ophthalmologist. The rank of appointment (Assistant/Associate) is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. Primary focus will be outpatient and/or inpatient clinical practice with teaching opportunities relating to residents, fellows, medical students and may include opportunities in research efforts.

Essential Functions:

• Provide expert clinical care in neuro-ophthalmology.
• Document findings, plan, and actions taken according to departmental guidelines and standards.
• Maintain a working knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues that impact on patient care.
• Maintain records and statistics in accordance with department policies.
• Attend and participate in staff, committee, department, and other administrative meetings.
• Participate in departmental collaboration, supporting strategic initiatives, program development, and multidisciplinary care coordination within the academic medical center.
• Participate in department's continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical or translational research.
• Provide education to other health care professionals.
• Teach and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students, contributing to the academic mission through formal instruction and clinical supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Active or eligible for a State of Ohio Medical License
• Completion of residency training in Neurology or Ophthalmology
• Completion of 12-month neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training program

Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
