Position Summary

A financial services organization in Coral Gables is seeking a Staff Accountant to support a broad range of accounting and finance activities. This role offers exposure across month-end close, general ledger accounting, financial analysis, accounts payable, expense management, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reversals, and reclassifications
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
• Analyze P&L results and budget-to-actual variances
• Support Accounts Payable, including invoice review, approvals, and payment processing
• Review employee expense reports and reconcile corporate credit card activity
• Maintain vendor information and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies
• Review invoices against contracts, statements of work, and established payment terms
• Assist with ACH, check, and wire payment processing
• Support financial reporting and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Partner with internal teams to improve accounting processes and workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience within financial services and/or banking required
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese required
• Portuguese language skills preferred
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with Accounts Payable and expense management
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to research and explain financial variances
