As a fully remote position, the Geriatric Mental Health Counselor will have the flexibility to work from home while connecting with clients through telehealth services. The structured workweek is set from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for consistency in scheduling and routine. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for senior residents via virtual consultations to accurately identify individual care needs and develop targeted treatment plans.

• Deliver evidence-based individual and group counseling sessions designed to address emotional challenges related to aging, including grief, loneliness, and life transitions.

• Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create and review comprehensive care plans that prioritize emotional well-being and mental health.

• Educate family members and staff on effective communication techniques and strategies to support the emotional needs of elderly individuals.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for both residents and their families, providing a safe space for discussing end-of-life issues.

• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and therapeutic interventions that promote mental acuity and enhance emotional resilience in elderly clients.

The primary clientele served at Harmony Health Services LLC consists of seniors coping with various mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, and transitional adaptation. • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling accredited by an established institution is required.

• Possession of a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential is essential.

• A minimum of four years of relevant experience in geriatric counseling and providing mental health support in a clinical setting.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices tailored for the elderly population and an understanding of various mental health issues that affect older adults.
