Accounts Payable Assistant

Benefits 401(k) Company parties Training & development Position Summary Bear Flag Fish Company is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Entry-Level Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team! This role supports daily accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing payment documentation. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of in-office and remote work following the initial training period. Key Responsibilities Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documentation Verify approvals and resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal departments Prepare check runs and payment batches for review and approval (does not process or release payments) Maintain organized digital and physical vendor files Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner Assist with month-end closing tasks and reporting Support audits by providing requested documentation Perform general administrative and accounting support duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred 0–1 year of accounting or office experience (internships welcome) Basic knowledge of accounting principles is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) helpful but not required Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and time-management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential information responsibly Reliable and punctual Eager to learn and take initiative Comfortable working with numbers and data entry Team-oriented with a positive attitude Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Benefits Hybrid schedule (in-office and remote flexibility after training) Supportive and collaborative team environment On-the-job training and growth opportunities Competitive pay and benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr
