American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift LPN for a Neurology/Tele unit, requiring a current Missouri LPN license and 1+ year of acute care experience.

Job Details

• Work on a 32-bed Neurology/Tele unit within a hospital setting,
• Care for neuro, med, and med-tele patient populations,
• Patient ratios vary by shift, typically 1:5-1:6 on days and 1:6-1:7 on nights,
• Utilizes telemetry monitoring, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps,
• Documents in EPIC EMR,
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM,
• Weekend coverage required as needed by facility,
• No on-call requirements,
• Floats on a rotational basis as needed,
• Night shift staff must orient on day shift and be available the entire orientation week,

Job Requirements

• Current LPN/LVN license eligible for or currently held in Missouri,
• License required if applicable,
• BLS/CPR certification from AHA required,
• IV certification required,
• Minimum 1 year of LPN experience in an acute care hospital setting required,
• Must be able to stand and walk for most of shift,
• Able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, and pinch up to 15 lbs,
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed,
• Proof of flu vaccination or approved facility exemption required November 1-April 1,

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups,
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort,
• Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other caregivers,
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with facility standards,
• Care for patients with post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidities,
• High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids should be expected,
• Black scrubs required as part of dress code,
• RTO must be made up during the assignment and is not approved during the first week,
• Only one holiday RTO request permitted per assignment,
• Local candidates accepted, though a reduced bill rate applies within 50 miles of the facility
