Receptionist – Counseling Practice

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Based on experience

 

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Receptionist to join our growing counseling practice. The ideal candidate enjoys helping others, has excellent customer service skills, and can manage a fast-paced office while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience from the moment they reach out to our office.

 

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and create a warm, welcoming environment.
• Answer incoming phone calls, return voicemails, and respond to emails professionally.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and behavioral health benefits.
• Collect copays, balances, and process payments.
• Complete new client intake and ensure required paperwork is received.
• Maintain accurate electronic client records and update demographic and insurance information.
• Coordinate therapist schedules and assist with daily office operations.
• Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.

 

Qualifications

• Previous receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in a medical, behavioral health, or counseling office is a plus.
• Experience verifying insurance benefits is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Professional, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
