About the Role
A growing architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firm is seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to lead pursuit-related marketing efforts and support strategic business development initiatives. This role is ideal for a highly organized and proactive marketing professional who can manage multiple deadlines, develop compelling proposal content, and collaborate closely with firm leadership and technical teams to drive successful outcomes.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with strong writing and project management skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to contribute to broader marketing initiatives that strengthen firm visibility and competitive positioning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related discipline
- 10–15 years of marketing or proposal management experience , preferably within the AEC industry
- Demonstrated experience managing RFQs, RFPs, LOIs, qualifications packages, and competitive proposal submissions
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and decision-making skills
Core Responsibilities
Proposal Development & Submission Management
- Lead end-to-end production of RFQs, RFPs, letters of interest, qualifications packages, and related business development submissions
- Manage pursuit schedules, deadlines, compliance requirements, and submission logistics
- Coordinate with external consultants and teaming partners for proposal development and design-build pursuits
Content Strategy & Customization
- Partner with firm leadership, project managers, and technical staff to develop tailored proposal narratives and technical content
- Ensure consistency in messaging, formatting, branding, and visual presentation across all submissions
- Refine and maintain reusable proposal content libraries and marketing collateral
Pursuit Strategy & Opportunity Evaluation
- Facilitate go/no-go discussions and pursuit kickoff meetings to evaluate strategic fit, competitiveness, profitability, and resource alignment
- Contribute recommendations regarding pursuit positioning, teaming strategy, and differentiators
- Help define proposal win themes and strategic messaging
Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement
- Manage proposal review cycles and quality control processes to ensure polished, compliant deliverables
- Conduct internal debriefs and gather post-submission feedback to strengthen future proposal performance
- Continuously improve proposal systems, workflows, and best practices
Marketing & Brand Support
- Develop supporting materials including interview presentations, award submissions, brochures, case studies, and other branded collateral
- Coordinate photography, visual asset organization, and graphics updates
- Assist with website content updates and social media content planning as needed
Events & Strategic Marketing Initiatives
- Support coordination of conferences, sponsorships, networking events, client-facing activities, and internal firm events
- Collaborate with leadership to execute strategic marketing initiatives and support annual business development planning
- Provide broader insight into firm positioning, brand evolution, and market visibility strategies
