Job Title: Registered Nurse – ICU Float Pool

Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Type: Travel / Local Contract

Shift: Night Shift

Schedule:

• 4 × 12-Hour Shifts
• 48 Hours Per Week
• Weekend Requirement: Yes

Compensation – 48 Hours/Week:

• Travelers: $2,900–$3,111 Gross Weekly
• Local Candidates: $2,400–$2,700 Weekly

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Float Pool to support a large, high-acuity hospital environment. The RN will provide critical care while floating between ICU, medical/surgical, telemetry, PCU, stepdown, overflow, and other designated units based on operational needs.

Candidates must have strong ICU experience and PA line experience . This experience will be evaluated during the phone interview and through an additional skills checklist.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in an ICU environment.
• Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in clinical condition.
• Manage complex patients requiring intensive nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate proficiency with PA line management and monitoring .
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to established protocols.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, hemodynamic status, and other critical parameters.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
• Float between designated clinical areas based on staffing and patient-care needs.
• Adapt quickly to different patient populations, workflows, and unit environments.
• Provide safe and effective patient care while maintaining professional standards.

Float Pool Requirements

This is an ICU Float Pool position. The RN may be required to float to:

• Medical/Surgical Units
• Telemetry
• PCU
• Stepdown
• Overflow Units
• Overflow PACU
• Other MS/Tele/PCU areas as needed

Flexibility to work across multiple patient-care environments is required.

Required Qualifications Experience

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required .
• PA Line experience is REQUIRED.
• Large hospital experience required.
• Experience in a 400+ bed facility required for first-time travelers.
• First-time travelers are accepted if the required large-facility experience is met.
• Strong critical care assessment and clinical skills required.

Licensure

• Active California RN License required at the time of submission.
• Pending California licenses will not be accepted.

Certifications

Current certifications required:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIH
