Position Overview Tiny Triumphs Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive Full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our passionate team based in Paterson, New Jersey. Work Environment The licensed therapist will engage primarily in a remote work setting, with necessary access to an outpatient office as required. Operating Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, our team values flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that are sensitive to the cultural backgrounds and unique experiences of each patient, ensuring personalized treatment plans are developed and implemented. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, adapting them to fit the individual needs and cultural contexts of patients. Provide various therapeutic services, including individual and group therapy, aiming to address specific mental health concerns and promote overall mental wellness. Collaborate efficiently with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists and psychologists to ensure an integrated approach to patient care. Perform crisis intervention when necessary, providing immediate support and guidance during mental health emergencies. Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower informed decision-making. Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with state and federal laws, focusing on quality and accuracy in record-keeping practices. Actively participate in case conferences and team meetings to facilitate case management and continue professional development through regular cultural competency training. Stay current on the latest research, best practices, and cultural considerations in mental health therapy to enhance service delivery. Patient Population / Client Focus This role focuses on serving a diverse clientele, including ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrant communities. Our therapeutic approaches are tailored to respect and consider the unique cultural influences and challenges faced by these groups, ensuring that every patient feels valued and understood. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey. An in-depth understanding of mental health disorders, evidenced-based treatment methods, and a commitment to culturally competent therapeutic practices. Proven experience in delivering individual and group therapy, with skills in engaging clients from diverse backgrounds. Strong crisis intervention skills with the capacity to respond calmly under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients from various cultural settings. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in using various computer applications for documentation and patient management. A commitment to maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality throughout all interactions. Preferred Experience A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a mental health counseling environment, with a focus on underrepresented populations. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to USD 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
