Mid-level Restructuring & Insolvency Associate

Job Summary At K&L Gates we are looking for a midlevel Restructuring and Insolvency associate to join our Charlotte, Portland, or Seattle office. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience as a bankruptcy judicial law clerk and/or as a practicing commercial bankruptcy lawyer representing debtors and/or creditors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, state law insolvency proceedings, and out‑of‑court restructurings. California bar admission is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Work closely with experienced lawyers across our U.S. platform, receiving active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. Represent debtors and/or creditors in Chapter 11, state insolvency, and out‑of‑court restructuring matters. Assist with avoidable transfer litigation and asset sales. Provide the highest quality client service and act as a self‑starter who can work independently and as part of a team. Required Qualifications Three to five years of experience as a bankruptcy judicial law clerk and/or practicing commercial bankruptcy lawyer. Experience representing debtors and/or creditors in Chapter 11, state law insolvency, and out‑of‑court restructurings. Experience with avoidable transfer litigation and asset sales preferred. California bar admission preferred but not required. Strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to client service. Compensation Base Compensation $210,000 – $340,000 per year. Salary will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on experience, expertise, market factors, and business needs.
