About the Role
The Company is seeking an Agency Attorney to join its Office of the General Counsel. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel for Procurement, primarily focusing on procurement-related matters. This includes acting as legal counsel on complex issues, providing advice on bid protests, and negotiating and drafting contracts. The role also involves institutional assignments such as handling Freedom of Information Law requests and preparing public hearing testimony. The ideal candidate should be a member of the New York State Bar in good standing, with a minimum of 1 year of legal experience or 6 months of service as an Agency Attorney Intern. Responsibilities will also include legal research, and close collaboration with the Law Department on contract-related litigation. Applicants for the Agency Attorney position at the company should have a strong background in legal matters related to procurement and contract law. The role requires the ability to work closely with operating units to meet business needs, as well as to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The candidate must be adept at negotiating with vendors, drafting legal documents, and be prepared to handle a variety of legal issues that may arise.
