Patient Access Registrar I, Day Shift, Rehabilitation

Adventist Rehabilitation - Rockville Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Patient Access Registrar for our Rehabilitation department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Patient Access Registrar, you will: Demonstrate excellent patient service skills, assist in problem resolution, both internal and external Demonstrate world‑class, exceptional customer service and set an example of correct phone etiquette Promote teamwork and a positive work environment Communicate with management when issues arise Demonstrate an ability to differentiate between self‑empowered troubleshooting issues and escalating issues to management Assist with the training of new team members Independently solve and identify opportunities for improvement Completes follow-up in accordance with department policy. Escalate appropriate issues to management Verify the accuracy of all insurance information Conduct patient account assessments Verify insurance eligibility for all patients Attempt to ensure patient liabilities are paid in full at the time of service Communicate clearly to the patient or patient designee, insurance coverages/benefits, patient financial obligations, and the impact of unpaid services Coordinate bed placement according to hospital guidelines and/or given staffing guidelines Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications include: Minimum of 1 year of experience within a healthcare environment.
