This contract opportunity near Hartford, CT, runs from as soon as possible through January, offering full-time hours from 8:30am to 3:45pm each day. You’ll have the chance to focus on a small group of six students, creating an environment where individualized attention and tailored instruction truly make a difference.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license for the appropriate grade level
• Experience in special education classroom settings, with a strong understanding of IEP implementation
• Patience, creativity, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with students, support staff, and families
• Strong communication skills to foster meaningful connections and promote student success
• Adaptability to tailor instruction and interventions based on student needs

Your Role:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to a self-contained class of six students
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive educational environment
• Track and document student progress, adjusting approaches as needed to maximize success
• Communicate regularly with families and colleagues to ensure consistency and cooperation
• Employ a variety of teaching strategies, optimizing learning and providing behavior support when needed
