Role: Intermediate CNC Production Machinist (Level II)
Pay Rate: $25 to $32.00
Duration: Sep 21, 2026 to Sep 21, 2027 (366 Days) (12 months)
A day in the lifeYou arrive to a well-documented, established job and get right to work. You verify orientation and datum references, confirm offsets are within limits, and run parts with minimal oversight. As parts come off the machine, you check dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. If SPC trends hint that a process is drifting, you escalate promptly instead of redesigning anything on your own. You keep the flow steady, safe, and consistent.
What you’ll do- Confidently run established CNC jobs with minimal supervision.
- Perform routine tool changes and make offset adjustments within defined limits.
- Apply understanding of part orientation, datum structure, and basic GD&T.
- Use inspection feedback to maintain consistency and quality.
- Recognize early signs of process drift and escalate appropriately.
- Creating or significantly revising CNC programs.
- Complex or fully independent setups.
- Diagnosing advanced machining or process capability issues.
- Leading optimization or cycle-time reduction initiatives.
- Deepen machine setup fundamentals.
- Gain exposure to 4-axis concepts and rotary positioning.
- Learn CNC program structure and safe, controlled editing practices.
- Increase involvement in first-piece and setup verification.
- Connect CMM data and SPC trends to machining decisions.
Progression to Machinist III is expected as you demonstrate growth and increased capability.
Basic qualifications- 2–4 years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience; die cast or high-volume manufacturing preferred.
- Hands-on operation of CNC machines (3-axis required; 4-axis exposure is a plus).
- Ability to read basic blueprints and interpret dimensional requirements.
- Comfort with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Foundational knowledge of tooling, inserts, and machining processes.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
