Program Assistant - Domestic Violence Programs Job Category: Support Requisition Number: PROGR004900 Posted: May 13, 2026 Full-Time Locations New York, NY, USA Description Major Duties and Responsibilities: Order, purchase, and monitor food, office, and other supplies necessary for efficient operation of the shelter. Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and statistics. Write, proofread, distribute, and file letters, memos, emails, reports and other correspondence. Answer telephone, schedule appointments, and attend to guests. Review and route mail, faxes and other correspondence. Maintain resident case records. Coordinate set‑up and staffing of events including holiday, workshops, donor, and general meetings. Attend staff meetings and take minutes. Prepare documentation for billing. Assist with data entry in SORTS, ADP, EPMX and other systems. Process purchase requisitions, check requests and petty cash reconciliation. Complete other duties as needed and/or requested by management to align with the mission and vision of the organization. Oversee daily HRA attendance and census reports. Specifications for Education/Certifications/Licenses: High School Diploma (or equivalent) 5 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant Experience working in a non‑profit Pay Rate: $20.88/hr - $24.15/hr All new hires, interns and volunteers must provide proof of COVID‑19 vaccination prior to their start date unless they have requested a reasonable accommodation for medical, disability or religious reasons from URI’s People & Culture.
