Sales Support Specialist

About the Role This is a hands-on, early-career sales and outbound execution role for someone who enjoys prospecting, communicating with potential customers, and keeping day-to-day sales activity organized and moving forward. You will work directly with a startup founder to support outbound prospecting, lead research, follow-ups, appointment setting, CRM updates, and other go-to-market activities. We are looking for someone with a foundation in prospecting and direct prospect communication who is eager to learn and take on more responsibility over time. You will begin with straightforward prospect research, list building, and sales support tasks while learning the company's processes and tools This role is a strong fit for an SDR, Junior BDR, Lead Generation Specialist, Sales Support professional, or someone with similar early-career sales experience who wants to develop broader GTM skills in a startup environment. Responsibilities: Research companies and contacts to identify potential prospects that match the company's ideal customer profile. Build targeted prospect lists using sales databases, LinkedIn, online research, and other prospecting resources. Find and verify relevant prospect information, including contact details, job titles, LinkedIn profiles, company information, and other details needed for outreach. Communicate directly with prospects through channels such as email, LinkedIn, phone, or text and provide timely, professional responses. Follow up thoughtfully with engaged prospects who have expressed interest, promised to book a meeting, need to consult their team, or asked to reconnect later. Help convert positive prospect conversations into booked appointments while keeping track of commitments, follow-up dates, and next steps. Monitor outbound campaigns and sales sequences to ensure activity is running as expected and flag issues when something looks incorrect. Maintain accurate and current prospect information in the CRM, including statuses, communication history, follow-up dates, and next actions. Support ongoing campaign maintenance, including updating prospect lists, refreshing outreach data, replacing inaccurate or bounced contact information, and completing other recurring tasks. Assist with nurture outreach for prospects and opportunities that are not ready to move forward immediately. Support founder-led GTM initiatives such as conference outreach, event invitations, prospect messaging, spreadsheet updates, and other sales-related execution. Take on additional outbound and GTM responsibilities as you become comfortable with the company's processes and tools. Must-Have: 1 year of experience in sales, prospecting o, or other roles involving communication with customers. Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate clearly, naturally, and professionally. Comfortable communicating with potential leads through channels such as email, LinkedIn, phone, or text. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clear instructions and established processes. Reliable and responsible with assigned tasks and willing to ask questions when something is unclear. Resourceful and comfortable doing basic online research to find companies, contacts, and other information. Willingness and ability to learn new tools, processes, and sales workflows. Open to feedback, coaching, and adjusting your approach as you learn. Comfortable with recurring tasks such as researching leads, updating information, sending outreach, and following up. Motivated to gradually work toward measurable goals such as number of leads researched, outreach activity, response times, or other sales-support metrics. Nice to Have: Internship, part-time, freelance, academic, or other experience related to sales, or lead generation. Familiarity with tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn, Dripify, Clay, or similar platforms. Experience communicating with customers, candidates, prospects, or other external contacts. Experience scheduling meetings or appointments. Interest in working in a startup environment and learning directly from a small team.
