Work Environment

This position is exclusively onsite and is structured around a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with some variability for weekend shifts as needed. Working within patients' homes requires a flexible approach and strong interpersonal skills as therapists establish rapport and adapt treatment interventions in real-time based on patients' unique home environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical conditions to identify functional limitations and disabilities relating to orthopedic issues.
• Develop, implement, and modify personalized treatment plans that align with best practices and are grounded in evidence-based methodologies.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, pain management techniques, and overall wellness strategies to foster active participation in the recovery process.
• Document all treatment progress and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record system, ensuring adherence to regulatory and professional standards.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians and healthcare providers, to discuss patient status and collaborate on care plans.
• Participate in community outreach and education initiatives aimed at promoting health awareness and injury prevention.
• Attend professional development events and engage in ongoing education to enhance clinical competencies and stay updated on advancements in physical therapy practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on patients experiencing orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, arthritis management, and chronic pain disorders. You will work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and your ability to customize therapy interventions based on age, cultural factors, and personal preferences will be crucial in facilitating positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication skills for effective patient interactions and documentation.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and basic computing skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in orthopedic physical therapy or similar rehabilitation settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with home care environments and community-based rehabilitation programs will be advantageous. Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
