A rewarding opportunity is available for a pharmacist experienced in long-term care and mail order pharmacy services, with a strong focus on compounding. This position offers a contract-to-hire arrangement lasting approximately 13 weeks, with the potential for direct hire based on performance.

Location: Greensboro, NC
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Optional/possible weekend on-call

Responsibilities include:

• Accepting and dispensing prescription medications accurately while adhering to legal requirements.
• Monitoring patient medication compliance and over-usage to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Ensuring prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Maintaining confidential patient records and managing pharmacy files efficiently.
• Advising patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answering inquiries.
• Providing consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Offering patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educating patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compounding medications for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions under strict procedural guidelines.
• Supervising pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and clerks, to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
• Managing pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
• Collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals to address drug-related patient issues.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid North Carolina Pharmacy License is required.
• Proven experience in compounding is essential.
• Acute care and home infusion pharmacy experience are significant advantages.
