Inspired by our founders, we proudly treat every patient as we would our own mom.Why This Role MattersThe Senior Payroll Manager plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across a complex, multi-entity healthcare organization. This role partners closely with Accounting, HR, and Finance and serves as a subject-matter expert for Workday Payroll, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.Job Description:Payroll Operations & ComplianceLead end-to-end payroll processing for 26+ legal entities across multiple statesEnsure accurate and timely processing of hourly, salaried, and off-cycle payrollsMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage, tax, and reporting requirementsAct as the escalation point for complex payroll issues and correctionsWorkday Payroll & Systems LeadershipManage payroll operations within Workday Payroll, including configuration, audits, and testingPartner with HR to ensure data integrity across Workday Payroll, Time & Attendance, and employee recordsLead payroll-related system enhancements, upgrades, and automation initiativesPerform regular payroll related auditsAccounting & Financial PartnershipRecord payroll activity in the general ledger and reconcile payroll-related accountsManage labor cost allocations and support month-end close activitiesPartner with Accounting on accruals, reconciliations, and wage and salary variance analysisSupport internal and external audits, including payroll and 401(kBenefits & Deductions OversightOversee payroll-related benefits processing,Support annual compliance testing and required retirement plan reportingLeadership & CollaborationLead, mentor, and develop payroll staff, as applicableProvide high-level customer service to leaders and employees regarding payroll mattersCollaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations on policy and regulatory changesProcess Improvement & ControlsEvaluate and streamline payroll processes and internal controlsDevelop, maintain, and document payroll procedures and best practicesWhat You Bring/Experience & Expertise7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-entity and multi-state payrollStrong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll requiredHealthcare industry experience preferredAdvanced knowledge of payroll tax, wage and hour laws, and complianceTechnical & Professional SkillsAdvanced Excel skills and experience with general ledger systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentialityEducationBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferredAdditional Job Description:The pay range for this position is $70,000-$132,000 + bonus + benefits.
