Project Manager - Facilities Planning

Position Summary Project Manager for the Facilities Planning Department will provide project planning and implementation services working directly with the Associate Director for Facilities Planning. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and possesses a strong attention to detail. Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently. Expertise in Microsoft Office is a must, with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Project Management Software is a plus. Must be able to work independently, as well as in a group, and be a self-starter with minimal instruction and oversight. Duties Responsible for working on Stony Brook Medicine projects. Locations include, but are not limited to: SBM Community Physician practices and Administrative Office locations throughout Long Island, Stony Brook Hospital, Ambulatory Care Pavilion, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Southampton Hospital, and Eastern Long Island Hospital. Provide space planning for clinical practice or office renovation, relocation or development of new locations. Create and review Request for Qualification for services and/or commodities to progress projects. Create bid documents and Request for Proposals, analyze/level bids and maintain contracts/purchase orders for services necessary for projects. Confirm compliance to NYS procurement guidelines as required. Responsible for development and coordination of design and construction plans for assigned projects. Provide project management and construction management to trades personnel and contract labor personnel performing work on new construction and renovation construction projects. Track time and materials to ensure projects are accomplished within funding constraints and allowable performance periods. Initiates requests for adjustments, time extensions, and scope changes when required. Maintains complete project documentation records on all projects and provides bi‑monthly status briefing to the Associate Director, Facilities Planning. Establish regular meetings with contractors and vendors for progress meetings and coordination schedule. Notify appropriate practice administrators, department heads and/or their designees of project activities, scheduling and project progress. Works with other units in managing projects to minimize disruption to building occupants and systems, utilities and other operational elements. Coordinate furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) purchase, delivery and installation dates to meet the scheduling needs of the project. Maintain project records, files and reports as needed. Records change orders that develop throughout the course of the project. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 5 years’ experience in hospital facilities planning or facilities and construction project management, or in lieu of degree, 10 years’ experience in hospital facilities planning or facilities and construction project management. Knowledge of NYSDOH, FGI, CMS, TJC and other regulatory processes. Experience using ProjectMates or other project management software. An active NY State Driver's License. Verification of degree (e.g., diploma or official transcript) is required for this role. Upload of documentation must be included with your application for consideration. Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s). Benefits The salary range for this position is $76,407 - $95,509 per year. The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as: location pay for UUP full‑time positions ($4,000). Your total compensation goes beyond the number in your paycheck.
