Medical Laboratory Technician

Overview As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at IDEXX, you will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. Onboarding & Training During onboarding you will receive foundational training in Patient Sample Management, covering specimen receipt, processing, and workflow coordination. After completion, you will rotate through the following areas: Urinalysis – routine and automated testing, result interpretation, and quality control. Hematology – operation of analyzers, manual differentials, and review of abnormal findings. Chemistry – execution of clinical chemistry assays, instrument maintenance, reagent management, and troubleshooting. Coagulation – performance of testing, monitoring quality indicators, and verification of critical results. Cytology – support of workflows, specimen preparation, staining procedures, and quality assurance. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). Degree in a science‑related field preferred. Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician credentials is a plus. Experience with laboratory equipment (microscopes, analyzers, pipetting) and reading lab tests. Positive attitude, team spirit, and attention to detail. Physical ability to stand, sit, lift up to 50lb, and meet vision requirements. Willingness to work in a laboratory setting with potential exposure to biohazards. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate target: $28.20 plus opportunity for annual cash bonus and merit pay increases. Work Schedule The regular schedule is Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00am–6:30pm; weekend hours 9:00am–5:30pm. Shift times may vary slightly based on business needs. Reliable attendance is essential.
