Accountant IAt HBC, we have the job for you! This position is responsible for performing accounting entries and reconciliations, and compiling and analyzing financial information. This position will provide accurate accounting support to the Controller, including assisting with month-end reports, analytics, investigating accounting discrepancies and other duties as assigned.Location: Winona, MNRate: $54,000 - $60,000Full-Time/Part Time: Full-TimePrimary Responsibilities Include:Assist with all audit requests (Internal, Interim, Year End and Programming)Responsible for daily/monthly bank financial activityAnalyze and record financial entries in ERP (including Intercompany transactions)Assist in month-end, quarter-end, year-end closeContribute to the annual budget processManaging day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and billing ensuring accurate financial recordsReconciles month end balance sheet accounts by gathering and balancing informationCorrects errors by posting adjusting journal entriesMaintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirementsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunitiesAccomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as neededOverseeing the month-end reporting and state and federal filings related to Sales Tax, Excise Tax, Franchise Fees, etc.Ensures smooth daily operations by managing office supplies ordering processAdditional duties as assigned to support company successYou will need to have:Bachelor's degree in accounting/business or related field2+ years of accounting experience preferredProficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite to include ExcelRequires excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)Requires excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projectsMust have attention to detail and accuracyMust demonstrate good judgment and confidentialityMust be able to work to meet deadlinesDemonstrated ability to seek out and seize opportunities and take initiative with little or no directionWorking Conditions:Conditions are typical of an office environmentSitting for extended periods at deskFrequent walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, talking, listening.Why Join HBC?When you join HBC, you'll be part of an award-winning company and team.
