To learn more about UCI Health, visit Your Role on the Team Position Summary Incumbent serves as first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics. Enters patient data into the registration system and verifies insurance and/or third‑party coverage. Handles inbound and outbound calls to patients to effectively schedule, confirm, modify or cancel appointments as a result of operational changes or patient requests. Performs general clerical and reception duties. Required Qualifications What It Takes to be Successful Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Minimum 6 months experience working in a customer service position plus 6 months in a call centre setting/clinical setting with high call volume; OR 12 months experience working in a call centre Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner Demonstrated experience using multi‑line telephone system Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval Ability to make simple calculations and perform simple math Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to effectively read, write and speak English Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of university and medical centre organisations, policies, procedures and forms Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programmes and/or government programmes Demonstrated experience working with a patient registration software system Demonstrated experience working in registration, scheduling and/or authorisation process Demonstrated experience working in a hospital or medical office setting Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
