Details Emergency Department setting within an acute care teaching hospital Adult and geriatric patient population with all emergency type diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:5 Dedicated pediatric ED and trauma suite located near the ambulance entrance Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a Every other weekend required Every other holiday required, if needed Floating required within skillset Uses Epic EMR Uses specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment Requirements Active New York Single State RN license required (pending licenses not accepted) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of ER experience required Experience with IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts/maintenance Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients Cardiac monitoring experience including dysrhythmia interpretation and management Experience with adult and pediatric emergency care including trauma cases Experience with isolation precautions and triage Pediatric spinal cord injury experience Epic EMR experience required Additional Information Rochester General Hospital ER is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center Facility features a dedicated pediatric ED, a discreet crisis intervention unit, and advanced diagnostic technology Scrubs must be a combination of navy blue and white First-time travelers are welcome to apply RNs must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates accepted for LPN roles only Facility may cancel up to three scheduled shifts during the assignment without incurring charges Time off requests must be submitted at the time of consideration American Traveler Job ID P-750835.
