This contract opportunity is designed for a dedicated paraprofessional seeking hands-on experience working with diverse student needs—including mild, moderate, and severe behavioral challenges—in a rewarding school environment near Longmont, CO.

In this full-time role (37.5 hours per week), you'll collaborate closely with educators and specialists to foster a safe, engaging learning environment. Your expertise will be crucial in providing 1:1 or small group support, particularly with students who may exhibit eloping or other complex behaviors.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a K-2 setting strongly preferred.
• Proficiency supporting students who demonstrate challenging behaviors, including eloping.
• Background working with mild, moderate, and severe special needs.
• Ability to follow individualized education plans and behavior intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for working effectively with teaching staff, students, and families.
• Calm, patient, and responsive approach in all student interactions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Implement and reinforce instructional activities and behavioral plans under the guidance of certified teachers.
• Provide direct supervision and support to students in classroom, small group, and individualized settings.
• Assist with redirection and de-escalation during behavioral incidents.
• Monitor for safety, including prevention and response to eloping.
• Document student progress and communicate updates to the instructional team.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere that empowers every child to succeed.
