Key Responsibilities

As a Full-Time Physical Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive treatment plans that are tailored to meet the individual needs of patients, ensuring maximum recovery and mobility.
• Directing physical therapy interventions aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, restoring muscle function, and helping maintain clients' optimal physical capabilities.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of each patient's level of function through diagnostic tests and assessments of muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities.
• Providing hands-on therapy, including administering manual therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and various modalities that involve physical agents.
• Collaborating with physical therapy assistants by supervising their implementation of the treatment plans and providing guidance to ensure quality care.
• Evaluating patients' living environments to recommend modifications that support rehabilitation efforts and enhance independence.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously through clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team discussions to review and adapt care plans as necessary based on comprehensive assessments and evolving patient needs.
• Providing education and training to clients and families regarding therapeutic practices, device usage, and overall therapy goals.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist, ideally in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting.
• A current physical therapy license in good standing for the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
