Work Environment

The successful candidate will work onsite in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Stafford, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment aimed at preventing disability and relieving pain, while developing, improving, and restoring muscle function in accordance with individual care plans.
• Oversee the physical therapy assistants to ensure they're implementing treatment plans effectively and safely.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities using diagnostic tests to guide treatment decisions.
• Assess patients' home environments, providing recommendations that enhance independence and facilitate rehabilitation.
• Provide in-home physical therapy services as prescribed by referring physicians, adapting to the unique needs of each patient.
• Administer and instruct patients in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and the usage of physical agents such as traction and massage.
• Fit and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, recommending modifications as necessary to the patient's physician.
• Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and updates to care plans accurately and comprehensively.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care during case conferences and treatment planning.
• Educate patients and families on physical therapy protocols, equipment usage, and overall wellness strategies.
• Participate actively in the ongoing development and revision of care plans based on patient progress and feedback.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants and contribute to their professional development through training and guidance.
• Complete administrative tasks related to clinical documentation and billing with timeliness and accuracy.
• Engage with community resources to enhance patient access to care and support services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at PerformAX, you will primarily interact with a diverse patient population, ranging from post-operative individuals to those with chronic pain and mobility issues. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia, in good standing.
• One year of relevant experience, either in an acute care or home care setting.
• Certification in CPR to ensure patient safety during all interventions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively in patient treatment strategies.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation facility setting is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
