Staff Accountant

Job Description
** THIS IS A CONTRACTED POSITION RUNNING THROUGH AUGUST 2027 ***
\n \nAdvantage Tech is searching for a Staff Accountant to take on a contract for one of it's clients based out of Baltimore.
\n \nEssential Functions and Primary Duties:
\n• Perform reviews of Medicaid provider cost reports
\n• Analyze health care provider financial information
\n• Perform reimbursement calculations
\n• Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions
\n• Conduct desk reviews and various on-site audits
\n• Conduct research in order to determine billing and reimbursement compliance with relevant
\nMedicaid or other government program regulations
\n• Conduct all phases of the audit including planning and research, risk assessment, fieldwork,
\nreporting of findings, and other procedures as required
\n• Review applicable Federal and State policies and regulations associated with each specific
\naudit type prior to performing the audit
\n• Prepare working papers to document scope and findings of audit in accordance with
\nMedicaid or other government program regulations and AICPA standards
\n• Demonstrate excellence in communication skills, data gathering, analysis, reporting, and
\nprocess improvement
\n• Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information when analyzing
\nmaterial
\n• Maintain thorough electronic documentation
\n• Additional responsibilities as assigned
\n \nPreferred Qualifications:
\n• Master’s degree in accounting or related field (nice to have)
\n• CPA or CPA candidate (nice to have)
\n• Internship or equivalent working experience in accounting or related field
\n• Experience with health care auditing and data analysis
\n• Ability to review statutory/regulatory or other policy language and apply requirements
\n• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
\n• Strong verbal and written communication skills
\n• Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
\n• Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
\n• Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments
\n• Proficient use of applicable technology; specifically Microsoft Office Applications (Excel,
\nWord, etc.)
\n• Ability to travel based on client and business needs
\n \nMinimum Qualifications:
\n• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
