Job Description: Cafe Staff- AM

Cafe Staff Job Summary: The Café position collaborates with one other person to serve and monitor the breakfast and lunch meals in the café. Assisting in food preparations with other kitchen staff. Records and reports food waste and sales with the Director of Dietary. Coordinates with the Clerk and other Café positions to maintain a clean and efficient space for staff, patient, and visitor food distribution and sales. Other duties as assigned.

  • Monday-Friday

  • 6:00am-2:30pm

Cafe Staff Essential Accountabilities:

• Prepares and distributes breakfast and lunch meal utensils and supplies to enable an efficient flow of consumers during mealtimes and throughout the day.

• Records and reports food waste, leftovers, and shortages to the Director of Dietary to prevent future wastes and maintain consumer satisfaction. Distributes and puts away any prepared or left-over meals and records dates and times to meet dietary rules and regulations.

• Assists other kitchen staff in all meal preparations for the café and patients including but not limited to drinks, dessert items, Quick-N-Delicious to-go, and cold foods to ensure a well-functioning work environment.

• Serves breakfast and lunch meals in the café. Monitors and regulates safe temperatures for prepared meals to prevent food waste and illness.

• Operates and monitors kitchen appliances to maintain temperature, environment, and food storage safety and prevent waste.

• Records customer sales in the computer systems to aid in inventory control and ordering.

• Executes and maintains a clean workspace to prevent food waste, pest infestations, and practice infection control.

• Assists in organizing and arranging delivered goods to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.

• Works well under pressure and can multitask.

Cafe Staff Other Skills:

• Works well in a team setting.

• Abilities to perform using basic math skills.

• Implements effective communication skills.

Cafe Staff Qualifications:

• Education/Licensure/Certifications:

  • Some High schooling; must be at least 16 years of age, 18+ to operate kitchen equipment.

• Experience:

  • Food service preferred, but not required
