Details Work in a Burn Intensive Care Unit at a Level II trauma teaching hospital Day/evening shifts, 3x12 hours from 0700-1930, with option for 4x12s if preferred Every other weekend and some holidays required Patient ratio of 1:3 Floating required as needed Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active WI RN or compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only), PALS preferred Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years in the specialty Prior travel nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required, within the past 12 months preferred Trauma Level II experience required, Level I experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall score Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, and PICC line care Experience with ventilator management, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation Experience managing burns, complex wounds, and thermoregulation preferred Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade Experience managing CVA, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury patients preferred Additional Information Care for critically ill burn patients requiring complex wound management and multisystem support Work within a Magnet-designated, nationally ranked academic medical center Collaborate with a multidisciplinary critical care team in a fast-paced ICU environment Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted Parking permit required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available First-time travelers not eligible due to required prior travel experience American Traveler Job ID P-742506.
