Assistant Project Scientist - High Throughput Plant Phenotyping Facility

Position Overview Project Scientist at the High Throughput Plant Phenotyping Facility (HTPPF) at the University of California, Davis. The incumbent will work under the supervision of Dr. Christine Diepenbrock and will collaborate to develop an active research program in high throughput plant phenotyping. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $76,700–$97,600. Off‑scale salaries are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications, and experience. Responsibilities Research (90%) Research in specialized area (75%) – The candidate will contribute creatively to active research programs, manage day‑to‑day experiments, design experiments, manage data, assist with proposals, and supervise students or technicians. Publication (10%) – The candidate will publish research results in peer‑reviewed journals and other outlets. Grant Acquisition (5%) – The candidate will help prepare and assist in acquiring state and federal funding for phenotyping work. Professional Competence and Activity (5%) – Participation in professional societies, reviewing proposals, presenting at conferences, and contributing to seminars. University and Public Service (5%) – Public outreach, university service activities, guest lectures, and committee service. Appointment is for a minimum of one year; reappointment is possible with funding and programmatic need. Qualifications Basic qualifications Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Agricultural Science, Plant Genetics, or a closely related field.
