Development Director

Part Time - Development Director Job Description Position Summary The Development Director leads fundraising for Portland Media Center, building a steady, diverse flow of revenue behind our programming and education and youth led initiatives. You'll grow individual giving, grants, and corporate partnerships, and local relationships with specific donors. This role works closely with Executive Director and Board of Directors, and reports directly to the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth Build and run a fundraising strategy across individual giving, grants, corporate sponsors, and events Set annual and multi-year revenue goals with the Executive Director Build a steady pipeline of recurring and major donors Spot new funding opportunities that fit where we're headed Grants & Institutional Giving Research, write, and manage grant proposals and reports Track deadlines, deliverables, and compliance Build real relationships with program officers and funders Individual & Major Gifts Run individual giving campaigns, annual appeals, recurring giving, the whole toolkit Find, cultivate, and ask major gift prospects Plan donor events Keep donor records and giving history accurate and current Youth-Led Initiative & Program Investment Champion fundraising for youth-led programs Team up with program staff to turn youth-led work into stories worth funding Connect donors directly to the impact of youth programming Leadership Partnership Work closely with, and report directly to, the Executive Director on all things fundraising Share regular updates and revenue forecasts Qualifications Experience building individual giving programs, major gifts included Strong writer and talker, able to turn mission into a donor ask people say yes to Great at building relationships Comfortable with donor databases and fundraising tools Fundraising experience for youth-led or media and journalism programs Relationships with Portland-area funders, foundations, or donors Experience partnering with leadership on growth and staffing strategy #J-18808-Ljbffr Maine Tasting Center
