Accounts Payable Specialist
Montebello, CA $2325/hour, based on experience Contract-to-Hire
We are partnering with a growing company in the Montebello area that is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, enter, and process vendor invoices accurately and within deadlines
- Handle daily accounts payable activities including invoice matching, coding, and payment processing
- Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies to ensure accounts remain accurate
- Assist with expense report processing and monthly corporate card reconciliations
- Support freight invoice processing for carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL
- Prepare electronic payment files and assist with weekly payment runs
- Maintain vendor records including W-9 documentation and payment details
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and accounting policies
- Identify process improvements to help streamline AP operations and increase efficiency
- Provide support to the accounting team on additional projects and tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting support role
- Understanding of invoice processing, vendor management, and general accounting practices
- Experience handling high-volume invoice processing with strong accuracy
- Familiarity with general ledger coding and expense allocations
- Comfortable using Excel and accounting software systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve invoice issues
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
